Work Experience

Prof. Stephen Lukusa has a total of 39 years of teaching experience at University and higher education levels which includes respectively 23 years of experience at the University of Botswana in the Department of African Languages and Literature, 3 years at the University of Dar-es-Salaam and 12 years of experience in training English teachers in several Higher Teacher Training Colleges in DR Congo. He is both a Language teacher who is very well-grounded in French, English, Čilubà, Lingala, Swahili and Kikongo and a Linguistics professor with an extensive knowledge of Bantu languages.

Language Knowledge and Linguistic Expertise

Prof. Stephen T.M. Lukusa has a very good command of French, English, Tshilubà/Čilubà, Lingala, Swahili and Kikongo (Kileta/Munu-Kutuba). He also has a good working knowledge of several other Bantu languages including among others Setswana, Shekgalagari, Shiyeyi and Mashi.

Other Special Skills

Prof. Lukusa has served from 2011 to 2019 as LASU (The Linguistics Association for SADC Universities). He is a skilled book editor and free-lance translator.
